Paramedics

Following is a general overview of the education, certification, experience and duties TransCare Paramedics are expected to meet and provide. This list is not inclusive. Other requirements may be necessary.

Education

• Associate degree or equivalent from a 2-year college/technical school, or

• 6 months to 1 year related experience/training, or

• Equivalent combination of education/experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Kentucky-licensed EMT-P

• ACLS Provider

• BCLS (CPR) Provider

• National Registry Certification in Paramedicine

Experience

• Minimum 1 year as a field provider in an ALS system

Duties

• Communicate efficiently with Public Safety Dispatchers to arrive at the correct location in a timely manner

• Assess patients accurately and communicate information to the On-Line Medical Control Physician

• Initiate procedures ordered by the On-Line Medical Control Physician accurately and correctly

• Coordinate patient care activities provided by other personnel in the pre-hospital setting to deliver the most appropriate care

• Record patient information accurately
