Paramedics
Following is a general overview of the education, certification, experience and duties TransCare Paramedics are expected to meet and provide. This list is not inclusive. Other requirements may be necessary.
Education
Associate degree or equivalent from a 2-year college/technical school, or
6 months to 1 year related experience/training, or
Equivalent combination of education/experience
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Kentucky-licensed EMT-P
ACLS Provider
BCLS (CPR) Provider
National Registry Certification in Paramedicine
Experience
Minimum 1 year as a field provider in an ALS system
Duties
Communicate efficiently with Public Safety Dispatchers to arrive at the correct location in a timely manner
Assess patients accurately and communicate information to the On-Line Medical Control Physician
Initiate procedures ordered by the On-Line Medical Control Physician accurately and correctly
Coordinate
patient care activities provided by other personnel in the pre-hospital
setting to deliver the most appropriate care
Record
patient information accurately
